CFCArts Big Band is Central Florida Community Arts 50+ piece jazz orchestra. It’s an amazing opportunity for volunteer musicians in the Orlando area to play in a big band full of talent. We practice on most Sunday afternoons and do several concerts a year including some for charity. CFCArts is also home to the country’s largest community choir (300 musicians) and symphony orchestra (400 musicians).
After initially finding them via a Google search, I attended a concert. At the intermission I searched out the director Justin Muchoney and told him I wanted to be in the group. His response was “You’re in!” So I’ve been playing trumpet with them since fall of 2025. Many of our concerts are at the Dr. Philips Center for the Performing Arts in downtown Orlando, Florida.
