One of my ancestors…possibly my great-great-great grandfather, Jan Cimbura, was famous for being an upstanding citizen. He was from a small city called Putim near Pisek, Czech Republic. More details are available in genealogy on MyHeritage.com See also Cimburas in the US.

Josef Baar wrote a 400 page book about Jan Cimbura in Czech in the early 1900s.

Then the first half of the book was made into a movie. A copy of the movie (also in Czech) was sent to me by a Miroslav Cimbura who lives in the Czech Republic.
In March 2000 the book was translated by Blanch Zelmer.
